Sending a Hug in a Mug

Hi everyone!! Brenda here with you on this Thursday morning…sending you a hug in a mug!!

I wanted to create a bright “starburst” effect radiating out from behind the coffee mug. I did this by sketching out some measurements onto Bristol cardstock and then taping off the sections with Post-It tape before ink blending Distress Oxides onto each section. I used Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, Twisted Citron, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade & Candied Apple. I splattered on some water and picked up the excess with a paper towel and then splattered on some Perfect Pearls mixed with water. The coffee mug, steam and heart, from Coffee With Character, were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored with Copic markers, before cutting them out with the Coordinating Dies. I added a little Clear Wink of Stella to the steam & heart, then some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the steam, heart and coffee. The sentiment, from Caffeinated Sentiments, was stamped onto a strip of black cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed in white. The mug and sentiment were popped up with foam adhesive in the center of the ink blended panel. A sprinkling of Rock Candy Confetti finished off the card nicely.
