Repurposing Dies

Hey there, Carrie Rhoades here to share with you my latest YouTube video for Trinity Stamps. I made these character mugs from a Halloween die set. I love a cute furry little monster for Valentines Day, so I thought I’d pull out the Scream and Sugar die set that is an add on for the Beary Cute Mug die set and see what I could make. That led to me creating a mug based on my childhood favorite monster. You know the blue furry monster that loves cookies! From there came Pink Cookie Monster, all inspired by my 5th birthday. Watch the video below to hear the story and see these mugs come to life.

If you cannot see the video on your screen, you can also watch it right HERE.

If you haven’t watched the video yet and are wondering about that fun sentiment. I really wanted something specific for this card, so I made it myself. Just typed it up and printed it out. Then I used the Emergency Card Essentials Die Set #1 to die cut out my custom sentiment. This die set has 3 size strip dies, perfect for cutting out long sentiments.

I kept this card simple, but one thing that helped give this card a bit more of a valentine fee is the background. I used the Quilted Cover Die in Slimline size to add the crisscross stitching. Then, I brought in the coordinating stencil set and added in the hearts that ft perfectly where the stitching crosses.

Even though this card is 5″ x 7″, the slimline die worked great for the top portion of this card. So, don’t rule out this slimline dies when making other sized cards!

The last little touch for these cards I have to share with you is the little steam heart coming out f the top of each mug. I made vellum stickers using the Trinity Stamps Soft White Vellum, Row of Hearts Die and Rip & Stick sheets. I love this added detail. It’s the little things like this that I feel really make a handmade card special.

Below you will find all the Trinity Stamp products I used to make my Valentine Monster Mug card. Leave a comment with any questions you might have and come back and see us again soon for more ideas and an upcoming NEW RELEASE soon!!

Happy Stamping and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Carrie
