Oh Holy Night – Sketchy Nativity

Hello, Trinity friends and happy Thursday!! Brenda here with a card featuring some of the new goodies from yesterday’s release!! This would be great to mass produce for the holidays, as it’s pretty simple to create. It fits in a 5″x7″ envelope and there isn’t any bulk, so there’s not any extra postage required.

I began by die-cutting the card base in the Arch-Shaped Die Set from heavyweight white cardstock (I had to tape the die in place and run it through my Empress a few times) and the second largest die in the same set from Bristol smooth cardstock. I gold heat embossed the nativity scene and star from the Sketchy Nativity Stamp Set and the sentiment from the Elegant Christmas Sentiments Stamp Set onto the Bristol smooth panel.

I blended Salty Ocean, Prize Ribbon, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks onto the panel using Blending Buddy Brushes. I used a paper towel to buff the excess ink from the heat embossed image and sentiment.

Next, I die-cut the images with the Sketchy Nativity Dies and the sentiment from the Elegant Sentiments Dies from scrap cardstock. I laid the die-cuts over the images on the background.

The panel was splattered with diluted gold watercolor paint and white ink using a paintbrush.

The die-cuts served as masks against the splatters.

The panel was adhered to the card base using liquid glue.

I adhered lots of stars from the Gold Star Confetti Mix around the outside of the panel and this card was finished.

I love the unique shape of the card base. It makes this simple card a little more special.

Thank you so much for dropping by today!! Be sure to check out the fantastic new release!!

Brenda
