Mix it Up Monday: White Embossed Rainbow Slimline Cards with Doodle Gardens and Embossed Circle Window Panel Dies

Hi Friends and Happy Monday & a BIG HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to TRINITY STAMPS! All month long the Design Team is sharing Birthday Themed Projects in Celebration of Trinity Stamps 3rd Birthday!!

Today, I’m sharing a Mix & Match of products and embossing techniques to create both a Mini & Large Rainbow Birthday Slimline Card using the Doodle Garden Slimline 4×11 Stamp Set. I love that the Trinity Stamps 4×11 Stamp Sets are perfectly sized for large slimline cards and versatile enough to create Mini and A2 Cards; with one stamped impression you have yourself a quick background for any cardsize. I matched-up the Doodle Garden with the Slimline Embossed Circle Window Panel Die & Mini Modern Embossed Slimline Die that cuts three evenly spaced circles across a Slimline Panel with a pretty embossed edge around each circle.

White Heat Embossing Method-Direct to Ink Blend

For this method, first blend your inks and then stamp & heat emboss over the ink blending. I used the Trinity Blending Buddy Brushes to “rainbow layer” Distress Oxide Ink Colors in Kitsch Flamingo, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistachio, Salvaged Patina and Mermaid Lagoon Colors to a half-sheet of 4 x 8.5 white card stock.

To ensure the white embossing powder doesn’t stick to the Distress Oxide Ink, I waited for about 30 minutes before placing the ink blended panel into my MISTI and then went to town applying Anti-Static Powder to the ink blended panel.

I double-stamped the Doodle Garden image with VeraMark ink and added White Embossing Powder to the impression. Then I heat set the white embossing powder with my heat tool.

Assembling the Large Slimline Card Design

Using Mondo liquid adhesive, I added a white Slimline Embossed Circle Window panel die cut over the Rainbow Doodle Garden Impression while creating a rainbow framed edge around the window panel. To finish the card, I added the Happy Birthday Scripty Birthday Sentiment using Vellum and two stacked layers of black cardstock and adhered the decorated panel to a gray & white stripe pattern paper base

White Heat Embossing Method-Ink Resist

For this method, first stamp and heat emboss the image with white embossing powder and then layer the ink colors using the Trinity Blending Buddy Brushes over the white embossing. The embossing will resist the ink and will still look white. For a little extra shine, after I apply the ink colors I will buff-off any ink color from the embossing with a Swifter.

Assembling the Mini Slimline Card Design

I adhered small ink-blended panels behind the circles of a white Mini Modern Embossed Slimline Die Cut. Using the largest Mini Rectangle Die, I created a Rainbow Ink Blended Embossed Frame which I then adhered the Circle Panel to. For extra dimension, I created a thin black frame by running the largest and medium size rectangle at the same time through my die cut machine. I adhered the thin black frame with liquid adhesive. To finish the card, I added the Sending Smiles Sentiment from the Garden Doodle Stamp Set and adhered the decorated panel to a white Top-Fold Mini Slimline Base.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and it inspires you to mix up your products & supplies in fun new ways.

Big Paper Hugs!
