Mix it Up Monday: A Shoe Designed for a Mouse

Hello Friends! Happy October and welcome to this month’s Mix it Up Monday! “There was an old mouse who lived in a shoe…ok maybe it was an Old Lady but mice need a cute house too. This week I’m combining the Mouse House and Shoe Sprites Stamp sets to create a Shoe/House Designed for just a Mouse or maybe a few.

To create the card, I first stamped the shoe house and mice using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink on Bristol Smooth Cardstock. Then I heat embossed the images with clear embossing to help with the next step of watercoloring the shoe with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I heat embossed the image to help keep the colors from running into each other. I watercolored the images using Wine Red (024), Geranium Red (029), Deep Green (044), Beige (072), Oatmeal (064), Mustard (067) for the Shoe and Dark Brown (062), Platinum (903) and Light Pink (026) for the mice. Then I die cut the images using the coordinating shoe and mice metal dies. Then I adhered the images together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and some regular old clear tape. Then I adhered the shoe with the mice to a white card panel and added some yummy cheese, a yellow sparkle doorknob and some Skip-A-Beat heart embellishments for a little extra pop.

To complete the card, I added some red/white striped washi tape to the bottom of the stamped card panel and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink.

For extra dimension, I adhered the card panel to a fun foam rectangle and then adhered the panel and foam to a red cardstock base.

And that’s how I mixed up two very cute Trinity Stamp sets to create a fun and whimsical; yet clean and simple house for a mouse. I hope you enjoyed my card and it inspires you to mix up your stamp sets in new ways.

Big Paper Hugs!
