Let’s Build a Scene!

Good morning! Sejr Andersen here, bringing you a Spring-themed scene card!

The Petite Prehistoric Pals from Trinity Stamps’ last release are one of my favorite die sets, so I’ve been finding fun new ways to use them. For this card, I decided to cut them from patterned paper to add texture, making it feel like their natural skin. To enhance the details, I also hand-drew outlines for each dinosaur, giving them an extra playful touch in the final design.

This card does have many steps, but they are so much fun to do.  Grab some paper, this can be solid, textured, patterned or even the fanciest of papers!   The first layer will be the full width of the scene, and then each layer after that will be different lengths.  For the best outcome, try and keep all the other layers shorter so that there is more overlapping.

Here’s a close-up of the T-Rex frolicking in the fields!

The best part of this card is the decorating. I chose a 5.5″ square card to give it a vibrant, lively feel. To bring the scene to life, I used a flower die set with a variety of floral shapes, adding depth and dimension to the design.

You can make this card as simple or as intricate as you’d like, and it’s perfect for using up scraps! It’s also a fun project for all ages—just cut, decorate, and glue!
