Hooray for Snail Mail – sending hugs

Hello again, Mirella here! I am really happy and excited to be back, and to be able to share another card of mine with you.

You might have noticed already (and if you haven’t, you surely will soon!) – I am a big fan of bold, vivid colours, and rainbow colours in particular are my jam. If I am ever short for inspiration, I’ll always go for a rainbow card.

Luckily, with the fun products from Trinity Stamps, I am not running out of inspiration (quite the opposite, actually!), but today I have a rainbow card to share, nevertheless, LOL!

The “Hugs” panel might look familiar, and if you think you might have seen something similar recently – you’re not wrong! I used the letters from this panel for one of my cards during our blog hop , and to be perfectly honest – at that time, I didn’t plan to use the negative piece. However, it looked so pretty on my desk, amongst all the scraps, that I decided to use it. And I’m so glad I did!

I love this cute snail from the Mr. Snailman set, and I thought that he would be a great addition to my Hugs die-cut. I coloured the snail with my alcohol markers and fussy cut him. I then adhered the rainbow panel directly to the light grey cardstock, and stamped the “sending” and then “hooray for Snail Mail” where I saw fit. Finally, I adhered the snail, with a little bit of foam tape for dimension.

The bold rainbow colours contrast nicely with the white card base, and the light grey panel. I didn’t want to add too many distracting embellishments to the finished project, hence I opted for two little “Boiled sugar” hearts. They add a bit of a bling and dimension, but don’t take away from the main image, which I really like. They’re definitely a great embellishment to have on hand for various occasions – as you can see, they’re not only for love-themed cards!

And there you have it – a relatively simple, cheerful card that can be used for a handful of occasions. I love having cards like this in my stash!

I hope you like my project. Let me know in the comments if you like rainbow colours, too?
