Hey, Chick! Sneak Peek

Hey friends! It’s Amanda from Twiddler’s Nook popping in today with another fun sneak peek of the upcoming Sunnyside Up release that goes live on Saturday.

I had so much fun creating a cute scene by combining secondary images from three new sets! I started by planning out my images, then I stamped, colored and cut them all out.

Then I moved on to my background by blending some distress oxide inks. I chose mowed lawn and twisted citron for the ground, and tattered rose and spun sugar for the sky. Then I put the Lots of Dots stencil on top and went over the sky again with tattered rose. Love those cut dots in the sky.

Then I spritzed the inked panel with water from a distress sprayer and flicked watered down tattered rose ink on it. I love the fun texture and interest this gives the background.

Once that was all dry, I cut the inked panel with the largest Embossed Edge Rectangle die and also combined the third and fourth largest dies to die cut a skinny frame.

Moving on to assembly, I used liquid glue to adhere the inked panel to a card base and the frame to the inked panel. Then I used a combination of liquid glue and foam squares to adhere all of my images.

Then for the sentiment, I used the Graham Cracker Alphabet dies to cut out “hey, chick!” three times and glued them together. Then I adhered them to the card front and moved on to finishing touches.

For those, I started with star dust Stickles on the chick cheeks and parts of the butterflies. Then I moved on to glossy accents on the chick beaks and feet, other butterfly parts and random spots and strips of the Easter eggs. This small step doesn’t take long and adds so much fun to your cards! I highly recommend it.

I hope you’re getting excited for the new release and will join us on Saturday for an Instagram hop to celebrate. It will be packed full of fun inspiration and chances to win too!

I appreciate you sharing your time with me. Have a fabulous day!
