Foiled Celebrate Slimline
Hello there, Christine here with a foiling tutorial that is the culmination of talking with other team members and trying a few things. I have a slimline celebrate card that uses the new Big Celebrate Cut & Foil die set, the new Cake and Candles 6×9 stencil and the Slimline Modern Embossed Panels die set.
First I cut a 4 inch by 8.5 piece of special cardstock (Heffy Doodle White Letter Size Cardstock) that teammate Carrie Rhoades figured out works so well for foiling, everytime. So I foiled the cardstock with the celebrate foil die from the Big Celebrate Cut & Foil die set on my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System and some gold aura Spellbinders foil as shown below.
Then I decided to mask the foiled celebrate by die cutting a mask. I placed the mask on top of the foiled celebrate because I knew that I would ink blend over the sentiment with the Cake and Candles 6×9 stencil. I ink blended picked raspberry, dried marigold and kitsch flamingo distress inks for the candles and scatter straw distress ink for the flame. I then used a glitter paste on top of the scattered straw distress ink to add more interest.
I had to touch up some areas with more ink after removing the mask and I’m happy to report that removing the mask removed very little foil. Likewise, ink blending over the foil itself, did not ruin the foiled area. To finish off the card, I simply tied some twine, attached the panel to a slimline card base and then added 2 frames that I had die cut out of gold and dark pink cardstock with the Slimline Modern Embossed Panels die set.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Beautiful! I love the pink and gold together and the foiled sentiment is just perfect.
