Floral Scrapbook Layout
Today I decided to make a totally different project- a 12×12 scrapbook layout. I haven’t made one in a while and it felt good to take one of my daughter’s photographs and make a layout with it.
I only used one stamp set- the Trinity Stamp Spring Fling Florals stampand die set! I made a video for the Trinity Stamps YouTube channel: link, that details everything, so I’ll keep the blog post concise.
- I took a piece of 12 x 12 white cardstock, placed the photo where I wanted it to be in the layout and then traced the corners with a pencil (the tracing gives me an idea where I should stamp) and then I stamped away- lots of floral images with Memento tuxedo black ink. I started with the larger images and then filled in holes with the smaller images.
- I wanted the flowers to have the essence of watercolor, but having very limited time, I didn’t want to actually watercolor this time, so I stamped some images on watercolor paper from My Favorite Things and then die cut them.
- I always place images first on a card or layout to make sure I like where they are before I adhere them down. That being said, I do still glue things down only to rip them off later- lol! Here though, I did not have to rip anything off later, but I did have to adjust my layout, by cutting 1/4 inch off each side of the white 12×12 page and then originally I had planned to have the photo in the upper left side had to change it to the lower right.
- Finally I adhered all images, photos and thickers down with some sequins in between. I am very happy with the way it turned out.
I hope that you are inspired to do your own 12×12 scrapbook layout!
