Coffee with Character and Erica

Hi guys!

It’s Erica on the Trinity Stamps blog for the first time! The reason for my absence is because I have been involved in a vicious hostage situation with DHL, they held my package for nearly 3 weeks despite many phone calls, emails and temper tantrums.

I finally got a message on Monday(as in YESTERDAY) that my package will definitely be delivered that day but I had to pay a fee! Oh I was maaaaad and decided to pay it in coins as a punishment for the whole debacle. Whilst having a coffee and counting coins, I was having a right little giggle to myself, plotting my revenge.

Anyway, once I had the goodies in my greedy little hands, it was time to P-L-A-Y! Whilst having some coffee of course. Which inspired me to use the darling Coffee with Character stamp set. It thankfully comes with coordinating diecuts. I’m not a fan of fussy cutting.

Unfortunately I do not have any progress photos of the cards I made, as I was under  quite a time crunch. I will make sure I do for future posts, though.

Right, so for my first card I stamped some of the images directly onto Copic friendly card stock with Memento Black Tuxedo ink. I used lots of bright colours to colour in the images and the cup with the rainbow is inspired by one of my favourite artists Sarah Coey! She is an amazing artist and she even offers cups with a rainbow paint on them. I want one in case that wasn’t obvious.

I also heat embossed the whipped cream in white and cut that out to add to the pink takeaway cup, with foam tape. I’m addicted to that stuff and it will frequent often and lots on my cards.

To finish off the card I diecut a thin banner and stamped ‘let’s get caffeinated’ using Caffeinated Sentiments using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks and added it to the card with foam tape.

My second card is very quick but it has my personal mantra for first thing in the morning on it.

On a 5.5″x4.25″ panel cut out of Ranger Ink water colour card stock, I smooshed some Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. Ha! See, what I did there? Ground Espresso ink on a coffee card? Brilliant, no?

Well, I thought it was perfect! Out of black card stock I cut out the words ‘But first coffee’ using a diecut and added these to the card. It obviously needed a cup of coffee so I stamped up a cup, saucer and steam on Copic friendly card stock and coloured them in, before cutting them out. I also added a croissant. Nobody needs any reasons for a croissant, right? Nom-nom-nom!

I added all of these little bits and bobs to the card and with that, it was finished!

With that, I’m all done but I hope I have inspired you to have a look at the Coffee with Character and Caffeinated Sentiments sets. They are great fun for us coffee loving gals and guys.

Thanks for stopping by, lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
