Candy Shaker Peep Show

Oh my goodness, you guys are not going to believe the cuteness I’ve been up to! Hello friends and welcome! Sara Lihz from Sassy’s LLC here, I am still buzzing with excitement over this super fun project “Peep Show” adventure! You know how much I adore creating interactive cards and anything that brings a smile, and this project absolutely delivers.
First things first, the star of the show is the Squishy Bunny Shaped Card Die. This is what gives our card its adorable bunny shape. I used partial die cutting – this allows us to cut only part of the bunny on the right side, leaving a perfect hinge so it can open like a little flap. If you’ve never tried partial die-cutting before, this is a great way to start since the score line automatically keeps you from cutting all the way through.
For the background, I cut some super cute patterned paper a little larger than my cardstock. Once the bunny shapes were die-cut, I removed the bunny from the patterned paper layer, and I glued all the way around the exposed edges to attach the patterned paper to the bunny base. Then came the oh-so-satisfying part – trimming away the excess patterned paper and cardstock to get those perfectly aligned A2 cards. For the inside layer of our shaker, I used my Blending Buddy Brushes and created a vibrant rainbow panel.
I layered up the bunny panel with some heavy-weight acetate to make sure it was nice and sturdy. Then, I used recycled packaging to I could create a clear bottom that would hold the candy in. If you used a different shape and cut entirely in the middle, you could just use foam tape here. To create enough thickness to fit our mini M&Ms, I added two layers of The World’s Best Foam Tape along the sides and top, leaving a 1.5” gap where our candy can be poured out.
I created a stopper with the Arch Shaped Card dies. I stamped “pull” using the Papercrafting Magic stamp set, but my kids will already know what to do with it! All that was left was to add 3 packs of M&Ms (right!?!) and a couple of funny Emergency Card Sentiments from the Funny Bunny free printable sentiments kit. These coordinate perfectly with the Emergency Card Essentials Set #1 dies so they have beautiful mat layers
