Birthday Cards showcasing Deco Foil w/ Stenciled Backgrounds!!

Hello Crafty Friends!!

Larissa here to share a Duo of Birthday Cards today, showing how to use Deco Foils to add that EXTRA touch to make the recipient feel SPECIAL on their Birthday Day!!
If you haven’t used Deco Foil Transfer Gel and Deco Foils with your FAVORITE Stencils, I hope I can INSPIRE you to give this technique a try!! The results are absolutely STUNNING and its a very easy Process!! Let’s get Started!!

I Started by Spraying the Back Side of the Starstruck Stencil with Therm O Web Pixie Spray!! I find this Product saves from any leaking underneath the Stencil when applying the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo, but you can also just use Tape to secure the edges of the Stencil as you apply the Paste as well!!

I Inked a Piece a White Cardstock that I Die Cut using the 2nd Largest Die from the Modern Embossed Rectangle Stack Die Set with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and then added some Distress Paint Splatters in Black Soot and let it dry!! Once the Paint Splatters were dry, I  placed the Pixie Sprayed Stencil over the Cardstock pressing it firmly in place over my Inked Cardstock Panel!! Then I applied a thin layer of the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo using the Stencil Pal!! I removed the Stencil and then set the Panel aside to Dry completely!!

Here’s a Close up look at the FUN Stenciled Background!! You’ll know the Gel is completely Dry when it turns Clear and is Tacky to the touch!!

Once the Gel was completely Dry I cut a Piece of the Brutus Monroe Rainglow Deco Foil Transfer Sheet large enough to cover my Card Panel and placed it color side up over the Gel Stenciled Background and ran it through my Laminating Machine!! (TIP: if you don’t own a Laminating Machine, you can also run it through your Die Cutting Machine to achieve the same STUNNING Results)

SWOON!! Here’s a Close up look at the Deco Foiled Stenciled Design!! This technique NEVER gets old and the results make me SQUEAL in delight every time!!

I Stamped and Embossed the “You’re The Greatest Friend on Earth” Sentiment from the Greatest Friend on Earth Stamp Set using Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink and WoW Clear Embossing Powder onto a Die Cut Circle from the Embossed Edge Circle Stack Die Set!! Then in order to create the coordinating Deco Foiled Frame I used the Deco Foil Toner Sheets and Foiled it with the same Brutus Monroe Deco Foil Transfer Sheet and ran it through my Laminating Machine!! Then I Die Cut the next Largest Circle from the same Embossed Edge Circle Stack Die Set and adhered them together!!

I adhered the Framed Sentiment Circle onto the Card Panel using Foam Tape and then adhered a few Fairy Rocks Rhinestones to add even more Sparkle and I think it finishes of the Card BEAUTIFULLY!! Then I adhered the Card Panel to a White A2 Cardbase using Foam Tape!!

For my Second Card I wanted to show that you can also create STUNNING Stenciled Foiled Backgrounds that can be used as the Background for a FUN Scene Design!!

Again I Started by Spraying the Back Side of the Superstar Setncil Set with Therm O Web Pixie Spray!! I find this Product saves from any leaking underneath the Stencil when applying the Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo, but you can also just use Tape to secure the edges of the Stencil as you apply the Paste as well!!

I Die Cut a Card Panel from some White Cardstock using the 2nd Largest Die from the Modern Embossed Rectangle Stack Die Set and then Placed the Stencil #1 over the Card Panel pressing it firmly in place and Inked with Distress Inks in Festive Berries, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed using Ink Blenders!!

Then I placed the Stencil #2 over the Card Panel Lining up the Design with the already Inked Stars and pressed it firmly in place!! I applied a thin layer of Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo using my Stencil Pal and removed the Stencil and Set the Panel aside until the Gel was completely Dry!!

Here’s a Close up look at the FUN Stenciled Background!! You’ll know the Gel is completely Dry when it turns Clear and is Tacky to the touch!!

While the Gel was Drying I Stamped and Embossed the Images from the Greatest Friend on Earth Stamp Set using Versa Fine Black Onyx Ink and Embossed with WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder!! Then I Heat Set them and used Copic Markers to Color them in!!
Skin: E00, E11 & E13    Red: R14, R37 & R39   Yellow: Y11, Y15 & YR23    Blue: B34, B37 & B39   White: C0, C2    Black: N3, N6 & N8   Brown: E14, E37 & E99
Then I used the Coordinating Greatest Fried on Earth Die Set to Die Cut the Images out!!

Once the Gel was completely Dry, I Cut a Piece of Gina K Designs Glimmering Gold Fancy Foil large enough to cover the Card Panel and placed it over the Stenciled Design Color Side up and ran it through my Laminating Machine!! Again, if you don’t own a Laminating Machine you can achieve the same STUNNING results by running it through your Die Cutting Machine!! Then I added some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the center of the Circle to ground out the Background!!

I Stamped and Embossed the Sentiment onto the Ticket Die from the 4-Bar Card Die Set and then adhered everything to the Card Panel using Foam Tape for some dimension!!

I adhered some Gold Satin Baubles to finish off the Design and I just LOVE how that Stenciled Deco Foiled Background sets the Stage for those CUTE Images!!
