Autumn Tree Stencil Fun!

Hello Trinity Tribe!!  This is Shanna from Caffeinated Craftiness today, sharing a couple versions of a card you may have seen earlier this week on my very first LIVE over on Instagram!!  I had so much fun recreating this Fall inspired card with the Autumn Tree Stencil.

I used Distress Oxides in Seedless Preserves, Pumpkin, and Mustard seed and some creative masking for my sun to create the background.  The new blending buddies made this sooooo easy!!  Walnut stain was used for the branches and Olive for the leaves.  On this version, the Happy Senti Mini set was used in conjunction with the new Autumn sentiments!  I love that little 3×4 sentiment set, soooo many good ones for all my fall cards!

For a different twist on the same scene, I used a nighttime “spooky” color palette of Oxides with Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot for my background, masking the moon to keep it white.

I stenciled in the branches using Black Soot Distress Ink, not oxide.  I find I don’t get as true a black color with the oxides, so for silhouette type images I always reach for regular distress ink.

My sentiment is a combination of dies included in the Narrow Card and Bookmark Die with Envelope and bonus dies standalone die set and the Autumn sentiments set again.  Who is your *official candy inspector*?

That wraps up todays post!!  See you all again soon, look for me on Facebook and Instagram and you might see me LIVE again!!
