Nugs & Kisses – Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Thursday, fellow crafters!! Brenda here with you today!! I’m sharing a punny Valentine’s Day card featuring the new Nugs & Kisses Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies combined with some older products!! Mixing old and new goodies is my favorite way to create!!

I began by stamping the image and sentiment from the Nugs & Kisses Stamp Set onto white cardstock with Copic-friendly black ink and red dye ink. I colored the image with Copic markers, then used the Coordinating Die to cut them out.

For the background, I stenciled the Checkered Background Add-on: Hearts Stencils onto a panel of white cardstock with red and gray dye inks using Blending Buddy Brushes. The panel was die-cut with the second largest die in the A2 Clean Cut Layers Rectangles Set A Die Set and a panel of red cardstock was cut out with the largest die in the same set.

The Dainty Heart Cut & Foil Set was die-cut from red and black cardstock. I wanted some texture on the red heart, so I die-cut it with the Quilted Cover Slimline Die.

The sentiment was created with the Simply Sentimental: Happy Stamp Set & Coordinating Die. The top layer of the die-cut sentiment was cut from red cardstock and the shadow layer was cut from black and white cardstock using the Simply Sentimental: Happy Die Set. The remainder of the sentiment, from the Simply Sentimental Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto red cardstock and trimmed into a narrow strip.

The rectangle panels and hearts were adhered with liquid glue.

The nugget and small sentiment were popped up inside the heart with foam squares. At this point I decided I wanted some smaller hearts, so I stamped the heart duo from the Nugs & Kisses Stamp Set twice onto white cardstock with black ink. After coloring them with Copics, I cut them out with the Coordinating Die and popped those up with micro foam squares, as well.

The “happy” die-cuts were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, with the black shadow layer slightly offset. It was then adhered with liquid glue. The sentiment strip was popped up with foam squares. To finish, I added a bit of shine to the eyes of the nugget with a black glaze pen, then added highlights with a white gel pen.

That does it for me today!! I hope this brought a smile to your face!! The Nugs & Kisses Stamp Set is filled with punny sentiments for many different occasions!!

Have a great day!!

Brenda
