Silent But “Breadly!” Attack of the Ninja-Bread Men!

Hi, friends! Irene here with ArtemisMade1, and as always, I’m so excited to be back on the Trinity blog and sharing another card and video tutorial with you! This particular holiday card is kicking up some Christmas cheer–literally! In today’s tutorial, I’m using the Ninja-Bread Man stamps & dies along with the Time Warp Letterpress Stamping Die to create an action-packed background that’s full of motion and energy. Watch how these sweet but mighty ginger ninjas leap into your holiday cardmaking lineup with some clever coloring, inky blending, and a touch of sparkle! Perfect for anyone who loves a little pun and a lot of fun.

I wasn’t sure at first how best to color these little cuties, but I ended up loving the final result! I used Copic markers in E19, E09, E08, and my secret weapon YR27 for that warm ginger glow. I also went with a blend of V99, BV08, and V95 for the eggplant bandana on the right, but I first did an underlayer of V95 and then topped all the blending off with a layer of W5, both of which cooled down the BV08 since that color came in HOT! lol For my little “ginja” on the right I used T10, T8, T6, and T4 for his nunchuks and BG99, BG96, and BG93 to get that dark sage green. On both “ginjas” I used a light blend of BG11, BG10, and BG0000 for a minty sage tone on the buttons–and yes, before you ask, about every 5 minutes I would say to myself, “Not the gum drop buttons!!” #IYKYK 😂

I struggled with a background on this card for a good little while, and I considered several options. I’ll be honest, scene-building is SO not my forte in the cardmaking world. After giving it a good think, I realized the Time Warp Letterpress Stamping Die plate was exactly what I needed to give my card a dynamic, vibrant, action-forward feel! I used the fabulous 3L – Scrapbook Adhesives E-Z Runner tape roll made adhering the background suuuuper easy, and talk about a strong adhesive–WOWSERS! I’ve never used this before, but color me impressed! This is a must add-to-cart item, as is the 3L – Scrapbook Adhesives Foam tape, which I used to adhere my “ginjabread men.” Again, super sticky but only where you want it, a really easy-to-release backer strip, and didn’t gum up my scissors?? WIN!

All in all, safe to say I am pleased with this sweet & sassy creation. You may even say it’s well-baked!
Thanks for joining me today, friends, and I look forward to the next one! Until then, grab some paper and craft something that really makes you smile!
Crafty hugs,
Irene
