It’s No Yolk…You Crack Me Up Shaped Card
Hello, friends and happy Thursday!! Brenda back with a punny shaped card featuring some of the products from the newest February release!!
I started by die-cutting the card base from heavyweight white cardstock and the oval from aqua cardstock using the Egg-Shaped Card Die Set.
The smallest egg shaped die was cut from white cardstock, the yolk from yellow cardstock and the arms, legs and mouth from red and black cardstock using the same die set. I cut mulitple layers for the arms and legs to add stability, since they would be hanging off the edge of the card base. I added some shading to the egg with gray dye ink and to the yolk with yellow dye ink using Shading Sidekick Brushes.
I also die-cut the largest oval in the same die set from white cardstock and added the “crack” with the die that’s also included in the set for the inside of the card. I added shading with gray ink and a Shading Sidekick Brush to this, as well.
Once the card base was folded along the score line and the fold was reinforce with a Teflon Folding Tool, all the layers were adhered to the front of the card using liquid glue. The multiple layers of the arms and legs were stacked and adhered together with liquid glue, then added to the front of the card.
The Egg-Shaped Die Set includes dies for the eyes, but I added googly eyes to mine instead. I adhered the mouth with liquid glue, then drew in the eyebrows and nose with a black fine-line marker.
The sentiments, from the Egg-ceptional Sentiments Stamp Set, were stamped onto aqua cardstock with clear embossing ink, embossed with white embossing powder, then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. “It’s no yolk” was popped up on the front of the card with micro foam dots.
The cracked egg was adhered to the inside of the card with liquid glue, along with the “you crack me up” sentiment.
You know I’m a huge fan of shaped cards!! Then add in a punny sentiment and I’m all in!!
