You’re Invited to a BBQ

Happy Thursday, friends!! Brenda back sharing an invitation to a back yard BBQ!! This would be perfect for the upcoming Labor Day holiday (or any other summer get-together)!!

I started by die-cutting all of the elements in the Grate Grillin’ Die Set from peach, brown, red and frosted silver cardstock. The circle was die-cut from orange cardstock with a die from the Clean Cut Layers Circles Set A Die Set.

The Grate Grillin’ Stencil was used to add the briquettes to the orange die-cut using Black Soot Distress Ink and a Blending Buddy. I blended the outside of the circle with the same ink and added some squiggly lines to the briquettes with a white gel pen.

I added shading to the brats using Rusty Hinge and Fired Brick Distress Inks and to the hamburgers with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink using Shading Sidekick Brushes. The grill marks were added with Black Soot Distress Ink using the Grate Grillin’ Stencil Set.

I thought the Checkered Background Stencil would make the perfect table cover!! I blended it onto a panel of white cardstock with Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink and a Blending Buddy, then shifted the stencil and added the same ink to create the checked pattern. The Checkered Background Add-On Stars Stencil was used to add the stars with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. The panel was die-cut with the second largest die in the Clean Cut Layers A2 Rectangles Set A Die Set and a panel of red cardstock was die-cut with the largest die in the same die set.

The sentiment, from the The Great Deal Stamp Set, was stamped onto white cardstock with dark blue dye ink and cut out with the Coordinating Die.

The rectangle dies were adhered together using liquid glue, then adhered to a white card base.

At this point, I decided that the grill would stand out more from the background if it was blue, so I die-cut it from dark blue cardstock. The grill was assembled and adhered to the background with liquid glue. The hamburgers and brats were also adhered with liquid glue.

The sentiment was popped up with foam tape. Lastly, I added some highlights and details to the grill, brats and hamburgers with a white gel pen and this invitation was finished.

This would also make a great masculine birthday card or Father’s Day card…just change the sentiment!!

That does it for me today!! Thank you so much for stopping by!!

Brenda
