Stamping Together: Rays of Sunshine Thank You Cards

Hello Friends and Happy Monday! Welcome to Stamping Together; a monthly Mom (@popsofpaper) and Daughter Duo post. One of the best things about stamping and card making, is sharing this creativity with my daughter (the Pops of Paper Kiddo). I let her pick the idea & Trinity Stamps Product and we laugh and giggle our way to a few projects to share with you. We hope you enjoy our creative adventures!

This month we thought we would do some stenciling together and create Thank You cards to add to our stash. You can never have too many Thank You Cards!

For our cards today, we used the following supplies:

The kiddo decided on her bright and cheerful color palette using reds, oranges and yellows. Here’s what the kiddo has to say about her stenciled Thank You Cards:

“Hello! Do you need a little sunshine? My mom and I used the trinity stamps sunshine stencil. I did red, orange, and yellow for the first card. Then I die cut a yellow star for the background and die cut a white star to go on top of the yellow star. After I stamped Thank you for the thoughtful gift. Last I glued the sentiment onto the star. For the other cards I made I did the same colors as last time red, orange, and yellow, but I used a different stencil to put the orange glitter paste on the outsides of the background of the first stencil. Then my mom helped me die cut two hearts, one that was orange and big, and one that was yellow and a little bit smaller than the orange heart. After my mom die cut a white shadow for the orange thanks, we glued it all together.”

I used my favorite teal/aqua and purple combination for my cards and followed similar steps as described by the kiddo except my second card used a basic circle die cut for the center of the burst.

Quick Tip about Stenciling with Distress Oxide Inks and Glitter Gel: Make sure your Distress Oxide Ink Blending is completely drive before adding the Glitter Gel. Otherwise, the glitter gel will cause the ink to bleed. To be extra careful, I wait for an hour or so, heat set with my heat gun and before adding the glitter gel I also apply some anti-static powder to the blended ink.

We hope you enjoyed our cards today. We had a so much fun getting inky in our craft room together. It was a nice way to bring in some extra sunshine into the craft room! Be sure to stop by the Pops of Paper Blog and Instagram for more card making inspiration.
