Mix it Up Monday: Yummy Peppermint Mocha!
Hello Friends, Emily here from @popsofpaper! Happy Monday and Welcome to this month’s Mix it Up Monday. Today, in celebration of all those yummy red cups that with yummy holiday drinks, I’m sharing a fun way to mix and match two die sets and yummy embellishments for a Peppermint Mocha Gift Card Holder card.
For my card today, I used the following metal dies, stamps and embellishments:
- Coffee Mug Card Die Set
- Merry Christmas Senti-mini Die Set
- Gingerbird House Stamp and Coordinating Die set (for the candy canes)
- Peppermint Mocha-Speciality Sprinkle Mix
- Snowball Fight Snow and Snowballs Shaker Mix (For the Marshmallows)
- Snowflake Lace Detail Snowflake Clay Sprinkles
First I die cut all of my pieces. A red card stock coffee cup, white card stock oval coffee top that I colored with Copics in E71, white card stock Merry Christmas pieces and the gift card holder in striped patterned paper.
Then I stamped, colored and die cut the candy canes from the Gingerbird House stamp set. After coloring the oval coffee top I adhered it to the red coffee mug. Then I made a very small opening with a small knife blade and inserted the candy canes into the opening and taped them to the back. Then I took the striped gift card holder die cut and adhered it to the back of the mug to hide the candy canes on the reverse side. To hide the opening, I cut in half the snowballs from the snowball shaker mix and adhered them to the base of the oval mocha and candy canes.
Then I added some peppermint sprinkles to the mocha for a little extra flavor 🙂
The Merry Christmas sentiment was adhered to the bottom of the coffee mug (I just love red and white holiday cards!). Then I added some Peppermint Swirls and Snowflake Lace for a little extra pop!
So there we are friends a quick and easy gift card holder for your favorite peppermint mocha friends and loved ones. I hope you enjoyed my card today and it inspires you to mix and match your dies and stamps in fun new ways.
Big Paper Hugs!
Emily
