Merry Christmas – Happy Little Tree Farm Shaker

Hello, Trinity friends!! How have you been? Are you ready for the holidays? I’m not gonna lie…I’ve been a bit lost this year. Usually we know when we are getting together with family and friends, but this year is totally up in the air! I’m the type of person who likes to have a plan, so not knowing when/if things are happening is tough for me. At least my Christmas cards are on point…ha!

I just adore the Happy Little Tree Farm Die Set!! It is so much fun to die-cut all of the little tree shapes to mix and match!! There are even super cute little faces that you can add, although I didn’t use them on my project today!! Can you believe that there is no stamping on this card? That’s very unusual for me! Let’s get started, shall we?

I began by working on my background. I die-cut two panels from bristol smooth cardstock using the largest rectangle from the Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows Die Set. I ink-blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks onto the two panels, going from lighter at the bottom to darker at the top. I splattered on some water and picked up the excess with a paper towel.

Next, the tree shapes, trunks and sign in the Happy Little Tree Farm Die Set were cut from green and brown cardstock. I added some shading with Copic markers for extra dimension, then arranged and adhered all of the trees together. I die-cut one of the ink-blended rectangle panels with the Slimline Staggered Rectangle Frames Die. Then I splattered diluted white gouache onto both rectangular panels, the trees and the sign. The snowbank was cut from white glitter cardstock using one of the dies in the Slimline Scenic Borders Die Set.

Now it’s time to put it all together! I die-cut a panel of acetate using the same rectangle die from the Slimline Stitched Card Panels and Windows Dies, then adhered it behind the staggered frames panel and adhered the snowbank to the front, leaving the adhesive off the top edge of the die-cut so I could tuck the trees underneath. I added foam adhesive to the back of the staggered frames panel, added Snowflake Lace and Frosty Snowflakes for the shaker bits and adhered it to the background panel, then to a slimline cardbase.

The sentiment was die-cut from red glitter cardstock with the We Wish You A Merry Christmas Die. I absolutely love this font, so I simply trimmed off the part that I wanted to use and adhered it to the top of the card. All of the trees were adhered to the front, tucking the trunks under the snowbank. I added Xmas Red Stickles to the trees for a little more sparkle!!

I really love how this turned out!! The combination of the shaker and all of the glitter makes this so fun and festive!!

Have a great weekend and a happy holiday season!! I’ll see you soon!!

Brenda
