Guest Designer – Jen Hartsgrove

Hi Krafty Friends, welcome back to my next installment as April’s Guest Designer for Trinity Stamps.

This week I used their Love you Bunches stamp set. It’s such a pretty stamp with so many possibilities!

I decided to stamp my images onto 140 lb watercolor paper with StazOn Jet Black ink, then I stamped them again with VersaMark ink. I used my Stamping Platform to line up my images perfectly. Then I heat embossed with clear Hero Arts embossing powder. I did this several times, so I could cut out some of the flowers for more dimension on my card.

Next, I watercolored the flower bundle with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Set. Using the following color palette:

No. 38, No. 37, No 36, No. 61, No. 63, No. 42, No. 58, No. 31, No. 30, No. 33.

I also colored the small flower in the corner, plus the flowers on another panel, and then fussy cut those out.

I made my background panel also on watercolor paper, with Nuvo Shimmer Powder in Atlantis Burst and Violet Brocade. I sprinkled some of the powders in each corner and sprayed with water to make the reaction occur. I absolutely love this effect, and can’t get enough of the shimmer powders right now. I decided to cover the cut-out flowers completely in VersaMark ink then heat embossed with Brutus Monroe’s Ultra Fine Embossing Powder Rainbow Sparkle. This made the flowers sparkle beautifully.

Next to assemble my card, I adhered the flower bundle onto the shimmer powder background, then I layered the cut-out flowers using foam dots on top of the bottom layer.

I used foam dots with different thicknesses, because I wanted to add dimension and interest to my project.

Next, I cut a light purple piece of Bazzill Cardstock 5.5″ x 8.5″ and scored on the 4.25″ mark. Then glued my card panel to the base.

In finishing my project I stamped my sentiment with StazOn Ink onto the same watercolor paper and used foam dots to adhere it in the bottom corner. Then I added three of Trinity’s Melted Icicles Confetti Mix sequins to the top.

It was such a fun project to make! I loved being able to play with my watercolors, they haven’t gotten much use! This stamp set seemed to be the perfect fit!

Thanks so much to Trinity Stamps for having me as their April’s Guest Designer. I have really enjoyed myself working with their wonderful products!

Stay safe, and keep krafting everyone!
